The Colour Proposal originally formed in late 2006.

During its infancy, the band worked and relentlessly rehearsed an extensive selection of covers.

At the turn of 2007 the band began writing and rehearsing their own, original material whilst concurrently playing their first shows in Aberdeen and further afield. The Colour Proposal’s debut home grown album "(In The) Evening News" was recorded and released at the end of 2007.

The Colour Proposal spent the rest of the 2008 writing and rehearsing a selection of new songs and in November of that year retreated to the recording studio. December 2008 saw the first release from those sessions with the single "(I Don’t Know) Everything You Know" being released as a free-download.

2009 has begun strongly for The Colour Proposal with support slots with some of Scotland’s top bands already under their belt, new songs in the pipeline and plans afoot for more releases.
